Stranger In A Strange Land

...If by "strange," you mean "there's a surcharge for using American money." Otherwise, it's pretty much the same. Although people are oddly kind here, which I love. Nobody has said "eh?" yet, but everybody does say "oot and aboot."

I've been to Toronto before, but I mostly forget that experience as a result of a massive mindwipe.

However, some things never change. For instance, the Westin still wants $20 for a sandwich. So I bundled like an Eskimo and froze my away across the street to a tiny little deli. I got a sandwich, a drink, some soup and a muffin for $12...well, $13.52 after the "we hate your money" surcharge.

  2. I once dated a girl from New Brunswick who grew up in Boston. She didn't believe Canadians said "eh" until I took her to a Pink Floyd show in Toronto. The folks in Ontario said "eh" all the way from the Niagara River, through the show, and back again.

Hope you're ready for snow. We'll be watching for you back in the States! Safe trip!

  3. I'm Canadian. I don't say "eh" all the time. I think it's just a stereotype.

  4. I heard a couple eh's today. Its just because you're staying at the posh hotel instead of duking it out with the crew here at our suites. Wait...what? We got suites? Damn right we did!

  6. I'm from New Brunswick, and I don't say eh? all the time..nor do most of the people I talk too. But apparently we say borrow wrong according to Americans. A guy from Philadelphia tried to correct me everytime I said it because we say it likes its spelled and he said it "barrow". I love accents and things like that!

  9. The 'we hate your money' charge gets annoying, and pricey. Worth it? Not really.
