Building The House

My new album, "The House We Built," is slowly coming together. In my downtime between the Miley gigs and The Highway Girl tapings, I've been recording new vocals, tweaking mixes, throwing on a little tambourine, and just generally polishing the recordings. Nine songs are now completely finished. I'm writing two more to round the album out, and I plan on getting those two down and having the whole kaboodle ready to send to manufacturing in the next few weeks. Still on track for a summer release.

I've just hired my good buddy Ryan Newman (an unfairly talented visual artist) to do the artwork and packaging. So it's gonna look as good as it sounds.

I'm very excited about this record. It's an extremely honest portrait of what I've gone through in this divorce. The album I had to make at this point in my life. I can't wait for you to hear it. And you will soon.

Now I've gotta go ride some faders.

  1. Ooh - completely excited and was just wondering about this. Snowball's chance you'll get to do any solo shows to promote it? Outside of California?

  5. I am so excited for this new album. I bought the High Cost of Living a few months back and since then have just been highly anticipating your new album that you kept making small mentions of in your blog.

  8. Elizabeth: Haven't booked shows yet. A lot of it depends on Miley's schedule. But I hope to play everywhere!

Heather: I can always count on you to be the very first person to buy each album (even before my parents). I don't know how you do it, but thank you.

Jody: I really would love to book a hometown show soon. It would be great to see you guys.

    Larry: Why thank ya!

Claire: If you like The High Cost of Living, I can't wait for you to hear The House We Built. Not long now!

Janie: You are exactly right. It's so nice to have music to help us through some of life's nasty hurdles. And boy was it theraputic.
